Recovery / Programmes
The Ymlaen (Forward) project offers a wide range of programmes, courses, training and interventions.
Gender specific group work for those whose lives have been negatively impacted by domestic abuse can give those attending a reality base to draw from and can help them to empathise with the experience of their group members. The structured programmes aim to support recovery, offer help with moving forward and to regain control of your own life.
The Ymlaen team will ensure the groups are a supportive environment with diverse perspectives as regular talking and listening to others also helps you put your own experiences into perspective.
Own My Life
The Own My Life course is an innovative, creative, educational programme designed to enable women to make sense of what has been done to them, discover their strengths and develop skills to help them and their children move forward.
Own My Life Employability
Own My Life Employability is a course that focuses on the specific needs and challenges faced by women in order to give them the best change of employment or enterprise success.

Male Compass Programme
The Male Compass Programme aims to promote men’s resilience and wellbeing following them being subjected to domestic abuse. It provides a safe place for male survivors to talk about their experiences, learn more about the dynamics of abuse and move forward with their lives.
Female Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit & the Male Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit
The Female Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit and the Male Adult Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit helps participants understand the negative impacts of having been subjected to domestic abuse, the thinking errors that can occur from this and provides support to aid recovery.

Healthy Relationships sessions are available to help individuals learn more about healthy, unhealthy and abusive relationships.
Adult Adverse Childhood Experience Recovery Toolkit
The Adult Adverse Childhood Experience Recovery Toolkit helps those negatively impacted by ACEs in their own childhood or those who would like to prevent their own children being impacted learn more about them. It provides guidance on the protective factors that help mitigate these impacts and practical methods to develop the resilience, self-esteem and self-confidence they need to live healthy, happy, productive lives.

Intervention Hub
The Intervention Hub is a structured Cognitive Behavioural Therapy on line programme which supports individuals to tackle their own problem thinking and behaviours. It develops knowledge of what is abusive behaviour, increases understanding of abuse, equips participants with the tools needed to start to address the problematic behaviour and have the opportunity to reflect on strengths.
Safer Streets Bystander Project
The Safer Streets Bystander Project works with individuals, groups, organisations and workplaces to support change in our communities. Working together to stop all forms of violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence, Safer Streets focuses on how we can all work together to call out sexist, misogynistic, harassing and violent attitudes and behaviours towards others.
Violence Against Women Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Group 2 Ask and Act Training
Violence Against Women Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Group 2 Ask and Act Training is a process of targeted enquiry to be practiced across the entire Public Sector which aims to enable frontline staff to safely and confidently ask if they identify indicators of VAWDASV and to act accordingly if a disclosure is forthcoming. Group 3 Workplace Champions Training is provided to ensure that the designated member of staff is able to consider WAWDAV in the context of the whole family, has the ability to assess risk in appropriate cases and is able to support colleagues with Ask and Act.
Bespoke Training
MFCC’s Ymlaen Project also provide Bespoke Training on all aspects of Domestic Abuse to businesses, workplaces, clubs, groups and organisations, in North Powys, on request.
Peer Support
MFCC Peer Groups meet regularly and provide the opportunity for past and present clients to come together in a safe space, where everyone feels accepted and mutually supported. Refreshments and activities are available and we do encourage the group to be self-directed. The Peer Groups play a big part in organising local events and have regular opportunities to feed into MFCC’s service reviews and forward planning through surveys and discussion.
Drop in/Pop up
Drop in/Pop up events are regularly available in the more rural parts of North Powys to ensure that no one has to travel too far to receive advice, support and awareness about all aspects of domestic abuse.
Wellbeing
MFCC’s commitment to providing Wellbeing to the whole community is demonstrated through the organisation and advertising of events designed to support and educate improvements in both mental and physical health and wellbeing to anyone who resides in North Powys.
