The aim of the programme is to offer a safe, friendly and fun environment in which the children feel able to share stories, whilst learning and understanding topics such as; feelings, anger, resilience, safety and positive relationships. The club allows the children to realise they are not alone in their feelings and they are not to blame.
This programme can also be offered as one-to-one sessions if a child or young person does not feel comfortable engaging in a group setting.

CYP Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Recovery Toolkit Programme
The CYP ACEs Recovery Toolkit programme is offered to children and young people ages 8-16 years.
The programme has been written to educate and inform children and young people about the impact of ACEs and trauma. It aims to show children and young people that they have the ability to emotionally regulate; to identify factors that will protect them, to develop positive relationships, lifestyles and coping strategies. The programme provides an intervention that will, in turn, provide a foundation that aims to develop practical skills, build self-esteem and self-confidence.
This programme can be delivered as a group or in one-to-one sessions.
Break 4 Change Programme
The break 4 change programme is a 10 week intervention programme focussed on adolescent family violence.
The aim of the programme is to address young people’s violence and abuse towards parents/carers and give them practical coping strategies to help in their future. Both the young person and their carer participate in the programme separately but parallel to each other.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
One therapy that the Tyfu team offer is EFT. EFT is an evidence-based practice for anxiety, depression, phobias and PTSD. The client uses their fingers to gently tap on the different acupoints on their body. Studies have found that stimulating these points decreases the arousal in the amygdala (the area in the brain responsible for the fight/flight/freeze stress response) almost instantaneously.
Sandplay Therapy
A creative and effective way of working with children and young people.
Within sandplay therapy, the client will use miniature figures in a box of sand. This helps clients tell their story and therefore process feelings.
Sandplay is a gentle approach which nevertheless works at a very deep level, which can be a benefit to children who have witnessed or experienced trauma.
Sand play is above all ideal for clients who find it difficult to express their feelings with words.
